Brownies Coffee Culture in Cologne

on October 24th I was at Brownies in Cologne and what can you honestly say about it. The bill was 14.90 I gave the waiter a € 50 note and he gave me € 5.10 back. That's why I pointed out that I paid 50 € with a and for half an hour he insisted that I give him a 20 € and didn't want to give me the remaining money In the end he stole € 30 from me because I didn't want to call the police So don't go there because you might pay 20 € for a juice!

An absolute cheek! The tall waiter with the blue eyes and dark hair is so rude and arrogant !! First he claims that you MUST have a drink and not just eat a brownie and then that you cannot pay separately. The whole time he was very rude. The shop has sunk in my eyes!

Waiters are cruelly rude. Just load a snot.

We visit the cafe regularly, but at longer intervals, were there on October 9th, 2020 and had to find that the pieces of the top walnut carrot cake have become outrageously small for the same price. In addition, our milk coffees were only lukewarm. For the total price to be paid, bad ratio to performance!

Big disappointment in terms of service: very slow and bad service, we were in the terrace, we waited over 30 minutes for the menu and only got it after repeatedly calling the waiter and then for making the order we did have To wait another 20 minutes before and got him finally to come only after i went in and asked him to come . Last but not least a worse story again with the payment , we went in and said we want to pay and then he said ok and went away to take orders at other tables and left us until another waiter came to take the payment. I would neither recommend nor go back to this coffee shop.

We looked at the selection of cakes and were then seated at a table. Unfortunately the card was then hectically cleared away by another waitress (45 minutes before closing time) and we were no longer served.

15 minutes ignored at the table. Then ordered at the counter at personal request. Our corner was generally ignored. All the waitresses are buzzing around haphazardly in the restaurant, no one knows what the other is doing. Then wanted to pay, unfortunately that didn't work either. Waited another 5 minutes, then got up, gave the waitress the money and left. Maybe you should take care of the guests present instead of just placing new ones.

Looking for a place where we can get coffee and cake, we ended up in Brownies. We found the outside terrace very cozy. The waitress who served us was very personable and friendly. We had ordered a piece of cheesecake and a waffle. The cake was delicious and the waffle also looked very good, but we personally didn't like the lemon aroma in the waffle as it was very dominant (a matter of taste). We would definitely come back and try the popular brownies.

I can only agree with the previous speakers; the service is very cheeky and you have to wait far too long. Very unprofessional! Especially when you complain about the waiting time and the waitress then makes cheeky comments. Better spend your time and money elsewhere.

Waiters should be properly trained. Waiting times clearly too long.

The waiter was polite. However, ingredients for the drink were missing, as well as spoons, plates and serviettes. The ice chocolate was clearly too bitter, almost inedible and the coconut shake lacked the syrup and vanilla ice cream. Hopefully this is not their normal state, just a stressful day

Very nice cafe. When I came in we were greeted directly by the waiter and got a good seat. The cafe was very busy despite that, our food and cafe came quickly. We felt very comfortable, we were well looked after. Further to recommend and we will be back. Thanks to the Café Brownies

The definition of a tourist trap. This place is no character, expensive and bland food. If you wish to have a coffee and rest- it’s ok. But would t recommend for a meal. For a toast with eggs and a soda, I payed 11.60€.

We waited 30 minutes before getting our breakfast. It looked like because we are not german, we were not taken into consideration. We asked coffee and tea but got only coffee. And coffee came after we finished eating.

Service is really bad here, otherwise a good place.

Nice staff, calm and cosy atmosphere and a good range of drinks. A nice change from Starbucks and also do food, too.

Its a comfortable place to sit in , BUT I was DISSAPOINTED that they didnt have vegan Brownies.
